As a member of ICGEB, scientists and research institutions in Kenya have access to the training and funding programmes implemented by the center and enjoy interactive scientific network encompassing the whole ICGEB community. Kenya has been training Doctor in Philosophy (PhD) students through ICGEB funds. There has also been capacity building in the areas of biomedicine, crop improvement, environmental protection/remediation and biopharmaceutical, bio pesticide production and COVID-19 Diagnostics through ICGEB funds. Kenya has benefited over the years in training, fellowships, outreach and scientific meetings, besides Kenyan scientists have been able to get access to and use the state-of-the-art laboratories belonging to ICGEB.
