Mr. Said S. Hussein - Head, Research Coordination

Mr. Said S. Hussein joined the National Council for Science & Technology on 1st December 2008 as Chief Science Secretary. He worked as geologist with the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources from 7th November 1983 to 30th November 2008. Mr. Hussein was born on 23rd  November 1959 in Wajir District and holds a Master of Science degree from ITC-Netherlands (1995) and a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from University of Nairobi (1983). He is presently an elected member of the Legal and Technical Commission which is an advisory organ of the International Seabed Authority in Jamaica as from 1st January 2007 to 31st December 2011.

Mr. Hussein has served as Secretary to the Geological Society of Kenya from March 2001 to March 2009. He was involved in the panel of Association of Professional Society in East Africa (APSEA) that nominated 15 Professionals to the “Bomas Conference’ on constitution for the Constitution of Kenya Review Commission (CKRC) before it was dissolved.
