Boniface Wanyama - Head, Physical & Nuclear Sciences

Boniface Wanyama is currently the Head of Physical and Nuclear Sciences Schedule at the National Council for Science and Technology. His academic and professional work experiences spans over a period of over 22 years. He is a holder of a Master of Science Degree (Ecosystems Analyst) and is currently pursuing Ph.D in Environmental Policy with a research focus on International Environmental Governance (Treaties & Conventions) at University of Nairobi.  Prior to his joining the council, he  worked as the Head of Natural Sciences Sector at the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO for eight years (2002-2010), a Senior Quality Assurance and Standards Officer at the Ministry of Education Headquarters and as a high school teacher.

Mr. Wanyama has extensively participated and represented Kenya at very high level international, regional and national meetings. He has amassed a good knowledge and understanding of United Nations, government, private sector and non-governmental organizations working systems and procedures.  He is currently serving as Kenya’s representative to the Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee of UNESCO, National Liaison Assistant for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the National Coordinator of Kenya DAAD Postgraduate Training Scholarships.
